He graduated in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and subsequently entered the Judicial Career.
He served in the Courts of First Instance and Instruction of La Seo de Urgel and San Lorenzo de El Escorial. He was promoted to Magistrate in 1989, and has been head of the Criminal Courts of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Magistrate of the Criminal Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas and the Court of First Instance of Madrid.
In 1997 he was appointed President of the Provincial Court of Guadalajara by the Plenary of the General Council of the Judiciary and, a year later, the Governing Council of the Community of Madrid selected him as Director General of Relations with the Administration of Justice, taking charge of the transfer of personal resources of the Administration of Justice.
From November 2001 to September 2008, he held the position of Member of the General Council of the Judiciary, appointed by the Plenary of the Congress of Deputies. During this time he was President of the Qualification Commission, Member for International Relations, as well as Member Delegate for the autonomous communities of the Canary Islands and Castilla-La Mancha.
He has been practising law since 2008 and is Arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid.
